A theory that states the natural benefits of cannabis are greater when a product contains full spectrum due to all the components working together with the body.
A major system in our body is called the Endocannabinoid System, or the ECS. This system works in conjunction to our Central Nervous System, or CNS, and our peripheral tissues throughout our body. The CNS is made up of our brain and nerves. The ECS works in the CNS to maintain internal homeostasis, or balance. Endocannabinoids attach to receptors on our cells to change the release of neurotransmitters, or the “signals”, to prevent over-firing. In other words, they help regulate the messages being sent and received through out our nervous system. In our peripheral tissues, endocannabinoids attached to receptors in our cells and prevents the formation of cytokine which plays a major role in inflammation.
It’s a common misconception that hemp and marijuana are two different species of plant. In fact, They’re just two different names for cannabis, a type of flowering plant in the Cannabaceae family.
While science doesn’t differentiate between “hemp” and “marijuana,” the law does. Legally, the key difference between the two is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content. The term “hemp” is used to mean cannabis that contains 0.3 percent or less THC content by dry weight. Psychoactive, or the “high” effect, is not present in Hemp with these trace amounts.
Cannabinoids found in hemp are called phytocannabinoids. Because of their similar structure to endocannabinoids, they are able to attach to cannabinoid receptors in our bodies and also help with internal stability. It is important to note that everyone has a different endocannabinoid system and may have different effects from others when using hemp products.

The 2018 Farm Bill contained provisions that clarified the legality of hemp and hemp-derived products like CBD oil in the United States. The provision amended the federal list of controlled substances with regard to hemp and reclassified the plant as an agricultural commodity, allowing U.S. farmers to grow, process, and sell the plant commercially. It also legalized hemp nationwide for any use.
